The fall colors in the Heber/Midway Valley are really showing up now and it's such a reminder of the

shifting seasons! We hope you're getting outside to enjoy the colors.

 Emily Thomas will be our artist demoing during our Face-to-Face and Zoom Member October 21st at 6:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you then!

Hello MAA Members! Fall is just around the corner and some of us can feel the change! We hope your summer was filled with activity, family and of course...ART! We're excited to continue our Member Meetings in October with Emily Thomas as our artist demo both in the STUDIO and on ZOOM. And, David Dean and Kimbal Warren are teaching an art class in September in the MAA Studio in Midway Town Hall September 16 - 18 - more info here

  Hello MAA Members!

The WPAP Wrap Up is complete! Here are some fun facts: we had 135 artists attend from many places including Florida, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, California and all over Utah! Total Art Sales were slightly above last year. We also had many new people participate compared to last year.

We want to thank all of you who participated!

The Plein Air Utah Rendezvous and Retreat in Midway has been cancelled. Because of this, we will not have an art demonstration in September. Our Member Meetings will resume in October.

 We just pulled off another amazing Wasatch Plein Air Paradise!! Once again, we hit our maximum attendance at 135 artists participating in the event. In addition to that, we had amazing volunteers helping throughout and working alongside the MAA Board to make this a success! We exceeded last year's art sales and received so many comments about the quality of art displayed in town hall! Many of the artists participating offered their gratitude and we love it when our artists have fun painting our beautiful valley and enjoy MAA's premier event. 

 Thanks to everyone who attended and participated and who volunteered and supported us throughout the competitions, Quick Draw, Auction and set-up and take-down!! Have a wonderful summer! 

Our member meetings will reconvene this fall.

IT'S HERE!!

Your MAA Board Members have been working hard all year getting ready for the wonderful Wasatch Plein Air Paradise that starts on June 20! We're very excited to see you soon, if you've registered.

Kimbal Warren presented a wonderful demo last Wednesday with so many composition tips and tricks, along with important thoughts to consider before even laying down paint. And I believe we had better sound and visuals for our zoom attendees, too!

So see you at Midway Town Hall on June 20th! And please register ASAP if you haven't to secure your spot.

If you’re not painting in WPAP, we invite you to stop by Midway Town Hall July 1 - 4 to see the amazing art that is for sale!!

 Our Member Meeting on March 18th was our first face-to-face meeting in the MAA Studio in Midway Town Hall this year!! It was so nice to gather in person AND have a great attendance on Zoom!! JOHN HUGHES gave a wonderful demo! We look forward to his class in Midway on April 23. You can still register at www.midwayartassociation.com!

 John Poon has spent more than three decades pursuing a life devoted to painting. A graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, his career has evolved naturally between creating artwork and helping others discover their own artistic voice.  

So far this year we have had such amazing artist demos during our Member Meetings! And this month's artist - John Hughes - will NOT disappoint! AND it's IN PERSON in the Midway Studio in Midway Town Hall. If you can't make it in person, join us on ZOOM! Please be sure to CLICK ON THE LINK IN THIS NEWSLETTER AND FUTURE EMAIL REMINDERS if you are joining by zoom. And a big thanks to those of you who have filled out our VOLUNTEER FORM on the website! We are so grateful to our volunteers during the Wasatch Plein Air!

  WHAT'S NEW?

Our association has had lots of changes in 2026! Jerry Watterworth has stepped down as President of the MAA, and Bonnie Griffith has stepped down as Vice President. Ginger Shell and Marge Bowen were elected as Co-Presidents. We also added two new board members: Christie Facer as Secretary, and Carol Granger. We are currently looking for a Treasurer and other people who can volunteer their time so please reach out if you'd like to help!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU - to JERRY WATTERWORTH and BONNIE GRIFFITH for all of their hard work and dedication over the years of serving MAA and producing our successful Wasatch Plein Air Paradise (WPAP)! And welcome to all of the new board members.
